The 1:3:6 rule. CAP auto-freezes you on the 1 highest-ranked option(s) you're allotted in Round 1. After Round 1, you cannot improve beyond your current allotment if it lands in this zone.
Practical implication — only put options in the top 1 that you'd be genuinely happy taking. Don't put a "stretch college I'd hate to commit to" at the very top in Round 1.
AI vs AI&ML vs AI&DS — basically the same?
Branches in the same family usually land within a few percentile points of each other for placements. Here's the actual cutoff overlap, by family.
Branches with similar median cutoffs are functionally equivalent for placement outcomes. Pick by branch interest, not by 0.3 percentile differences in median.
How much 'lift' does your reservation give you?
